-
I know what you're going to say she saidB
And she stood up causing him some alarmC
You're going to tell me I'll lose my charmC
And what is a woman when charm has fledB
And you're going to say that you greatly fearD
I don't understand a woman's sphereD
Now aren't you honestly Yes he saidB
-
I know what you're going to say she saidB
You're going to ask what I hope to gainE
By stepping down to the dusty plainE
By seeking a stone when I might have breadB
You're going to say 'Can a vote replaceF
The tender force of a woman's grace '-
Now aren't you honestly Yes he saidB
-
I know what you're going to do he saidB
You're going to talk to me all day longG
Trying to make me see I'm wrongG
And other men who are less misledB
Will pale with jealousy when they seeH
The time you give to converting meH
Now aren't you honestly Ye es she saidB
