Under The Blue Skies... Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLM

Under the blue skies of her native landA
She languished and began to fadeB
Until surely there flew without a soundC
Above me her young shadeB
-
But there stretches between us an uncrossable lineD
In vain my feelings I tried to awakenE
The lips that brought the news were made of stoneF
And I listened like a stone unshakenE
-
So this is she for whom my soul once burnedG
In the tense and heavy fireH
Obsessed exhausted driven out of my mindI
By tenderness and desireH
-
Where are the torments Where is love AlasJ
For the unreturning days'K
Sweet memory and for the poor credulousL
Shade I find no lament no tearsM
