The Quest Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDDC EEEFGGF HHHIFFI JJJFKKF LLLMNOM PPPQRRQ

A part immutable unseenA
Being before itself had beenB
Became Like dew a triple queenA
Shone as the void uncoveredC
The silence of deep height was drawnD
A veil across the silver dawnD
On holy wings that hoveredC
-
The music of three thoughts becameE
The beauty that is one white flameE
The justice that surpasses shameE
The victory the splendourF
The sacred fountain that is whirledG
From depths beyond that older worldG
A new world to engenderF
-
The kingdom is extended NightH
Dwells and I contemplate the sightH
That is not seeing but the lightH
That secretly is kindledI
Though oft time its most holy fireF
Lacks oil whene'er my own DesireF
Before desire has dwindledI
-
I see the thin web binding meJ
With thirteen cords of unityJ
Toward the calm centre of the seaJ
O thou supernal motherF
The triple light my path dividesK
To twain and fifty sudden sidesK
Each perfect as each otherF
-
Now backwards inwards still my mindL
Must track the intangible and blindL
And seeking shall securely findL
Hidden in secret placesM
Fresh feasts for every soul that strivesN
New life for many mystic livesO
And strange new forms and facesM
-
My mind still searches and attainsP
By many days and many painsP
To That which Is and Was and reignsP
Shadowed in four and tenQ
And loses self in sacred landsR
And cries and quickens and understandsR
Beyond the first AmenQ
