Thanatos Basileos Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDEEFF

The serpent dips his head beneath the seaA
His mother source of all his energyA
Eternal thence to draw the strength he needsB
On earth to do indomitable deesC
Once more and they who saw but understoodD
Naught of his nature of beatitudeD
Were awed they murmured with abated breathE
Alas the Master so he sinks in deathE
But whoso knows the mystery of manF
Sees life and death as curves of one same planF
