Nor I can give nor you can take enduresB
The simple truth of me that is yoursB
Is not the music mingled with the formC
When all the heavens break in blind black stormC
Are we not veiled as Gods and cruel as theyD
Smiting our brilliance on the shuddering clayD
Silence and darkness cover us confirmE
Our splendour to its unappointed termE
For all the men homunculi that danceF
Around us shudder at our brillianceG
These puppets perish in the good grand glareH
Our sworded sunlight in the boundless airH
These bats need cloisters these tame birds a cageI
How should they know the Masters of the AgeI
Or understand when the archangels cryJ
Adoring us Ell n kat' asterh eiK
