Sonnet 03 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFGHHIWhy should you be astonished that my heart | A |
Plunged for so long in darkness and in dearth | B |
Should be revived by you and stir and start | A |
As by warm April now reviving Earth | B |
I am the field of undulating grass | C |
And you the gentle perfumed breath of Spring | D |
And all my lyric being when you pass | C |
Is bowed and filled with sudden murmuring | D |
I asked you nothing and expected less | E |
But with that deep impassioned tenderness | F |
Of one approaching what he most adores | G |
I only wished to lose a little space | H |
All thought of my own life and in its place | H |
To live and dream and have my joy in yours | I |
