Sonnet 01 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCEFGHGII

Sidney in whom the heyday of romanceA
Came to its precious and most perfect flowerB
Whether you tourneyed with victorious lanceA
Or brought sweet roundelays to Stella's bowerB
I give myself some credit for the wayC
I have kept clean of what enslaves and lowersD
Shunned the ideals of our present dayC
And studied those that were esteemed in yoursE
For turning from the mob that buys SuccessF
By sacrificing all Life's better partG
Down the free roads of human happinessH
I frolicked poor of purse but light of heartG
And lived in strict devotion all alongI
To my three idols Love and Arms and SongI
