I Have A Rendezvous With Death Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCAC DDAEAEFF GHGAFAHFII

I have a rendezvous with DeathA
At some disputed barricadeB
When Spring comes back with rustling shadeB
And apple blossoms fill the airC
I have a rendezvous with DeathA
When Spring brings back blue days and fairC
-
It may be he shall take my handD
And lead me into his dark landD
And close my eyes and quench my breathA
It may be I shall pass him stillE
I have a rendezvous with DeathA
On some scarred slope of battered hillE
When Spring comes round again this yearF
And the first meadow flowers appearF
-
God knows 'twere better to be deepG
Pillowed in silk and scented downH
Where Love throbs out in blissful sleepG
Pulse nigh to pulse and breath to breathA
Where hushed awakenings are dearF
But I've a rendezvous with DeathA
At midnight in some flaming townH
When Spring trips north again this yearF
And I to my pledged word am trueI
I shall not fail that rendezvousI
