All That's Not Love . . . Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH

All that's not love is the dearth of my daysA
The leaves of the volume with rubric unwritB
The temple in times without prayer without praiseA
The altar unset and the candle unlitB
-
-
Let me survive not the lovable swayC
Of early desire nor see when it goesD
The courts of Life's abbey in ivied decayC
Whence sometime sweet anthems and incense aroseD
-
-
The delicate hues of its sevenfold ringsE
The rainbow outlives not their yellow and blueF
The butterfly sees not dissolve from his wingsE
But even with their beauty life fades from them tooF
-
-
No more would I linger past Love's ardent boundsG
Nor live for aught else but the joy that it cravesH
That burden and essence of all that surroundsG
Is the song in the wind and the smile on the wavesH
