Afore The Cockerel Crows Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDE FGHGIJIK LMLMNONO

Who is this muse before me stoodA
I know her not I sayB
A temperate stirring of the bloodC
I bid her go awayB
Her seducing warm pacific smileD
The shining in her eyeE
I watch her handsome form a whileD
And yet her I denyE
-
I took once more a further glanceF
Affirming what I thoughtG
A glowing flowing countenanceH
Upon mine eyes here broughtG
I bid her go a second timeI
Yet still she must remainJ
Sparkling in the morning rimeI
Be gone I say againK
-
I close my eyes and hope to seeL
Her off before I wakeM
An angel come to beckon meL
And for my soul to takeM
My eyes are opened looking onN
Aroused from my reposeO
I'd surely bid her thrice begoneN
Afore the cockerel crowsO
