The Sense Of Freedom In The Sky Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DDEF GGHH IIJJBB

When those stars shine in the dark and desolate skyA
From the murky depths of my soul I feel a fire igniteB
That day I started walking with nothing by my sideC
-
As softs winds started to blowD
I looked at the southern sky and witnessed its periwinkle glowD
I cloaked myself in the tranquil solitudeE
I wanted to be heard but what if I was misunderstoodF
-
Hatred echoed in my brainG
And I couldn t help but be overwhelmed in painG
Domestication of fear the profundity of sadnessH
I wondered if I would ever find happinessH
-
That unbearable timeI
When your heart stops to chimeI
Still you say you re okayJ
Honestly who can you trust Who will actually be with you at the end of the dayJ
I tried to make those overpowering thoughts run away from sightB
But I couldn t I ended up counting those reflecting stars in that dark and desolate nightB

Poet's note: I didn't necessarily write it for anyone in particular. I wanted my poem to portray how sometimes you're so unsure of yourself and you let self-doubt take over until you just give in. Those times it's as if no one is by your side and you cloak yourself in desolation hoping you'll find some inspiration from the twinkling and free stars. This poem all in all helps me to express how I feel and how it's rather impossible for me to share these thoughts of mine spontaneously. It gives me a sense of depth.
