She was torn away,
That night on the Atlantic ocean
By the big ship of the slave hunters
A long way from her home,Africa
She loves to sing spiritual hymns
And now she is refusing to sing it
Iron bars on her neck, mucus in her throat
A heavy blow coming on her from behind
She is not afraid of death any more again
She is sold but She feel she is not alone
And a deep cry welling down her heart
She is expecting something from God
And that's the freedom of her peoples
Desperately finding hope in the future
In the shadowy and darkest of the places
Today's independence when africans were freed
Today was when Mother brought us freedom
Today we can decide to make the world free
Committing to end human trading and slave business
