So many folks are walking corpses
They have died a thousand times in the head
Their life have been snuffed out
Their eyes, hollow and sunken
Like the pathway to death itself.
So many folks are walking corpses
Hanging on to the tiniest bit of hope
Forced smile plastered on their faces
Eyes looking but not seeing
Heart beating but no sign of life.
So many folks are walking corpses
Willing to end it all but have no strength
No willpower and courage to do so
Stuck between a life they are tired of living
And a life they are afraid of taking.

Poet's note: The poem centres on people who are living but have no life. These people I called the 'walking corpses'.
