O Lord where shall I find TheeA
All hidden and exalted is Thy placeB
And where shall I not find TheeA
Full of Thy glory is the infinite spaceB
-
Found near abiding everC
He made the earth s ends set their utmost barD
Unto the nigh a refugeE
Yea and a trust to them who wait afarD
Thou sittest throned between the CherubimF
Thou dwellest high above the cloud rack dimF
Praised by Thine hosts and yet beyond their praisesG
Forever far exaltH
The endless whirl of worlds may not contain TheeA
How then one heaven s vaultH
-
And Thou withal upliftedI
O er man upon a mighty throne apartJ
Art yet forever near himF
Breath of his spirit life blood of his heartJ
His own mouth speaketh testimony trueK
That Thou his Maker art alone for whoK
Shall say he hath not seen Thee Lo the heavensL
And all their host aflameF
With glory show Thy fear in speech unutteredJ
With silent voice proclaimF
-
Longing I sought Thy presenceM
Lord with my whole heart did I call and prayN
And going out toward TheeA
I found Thee coming to me on the wayN
Yea in Thy wonders might as clear to seeA
As when within the shrine I looked for TheeA
Who shall not fear Thee Lo upon their shouldersO
Thy yoke divinely dreadJ
Who shall forbear to cry to Thee That givestJ
To all their daily breadJ
-
And can the Lord God trulyA
God the Most High dwell here within man s breastJ
What shall he answer ponderingP
Man whose foundations in the dust do restJ
For Thou art holy dwelling mid the praiseQ
Of them that waft Thee worship all their daysQ
Angels adoring singing of Thy wonderC
Stand upon Heaven s heightJ
And Thou enthroned o erhead all things upholdestJ
With everlasting mightJ
