Ecclesiastical Sonnets - Part Ii. - Vi - Other Benefits Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCADEFDFE

And not in vain embodied to the sightA
Religion finds even in the stern retreatB
Of feudal sway her own appropriate seatB
From the collegiate pomps on Windsor's heightA
Down to the humbler altar which the KnightA
And his retainers of the embattled hallC
Seek in domestic oratory smallC
For prayer in stillness or the chanted riteA
Then chiefly dear when foes are planted roundD
Who teach the intrepid guardians of the placeE
Hourly exposed to death with famine wornF
And suffering under many a perilous woundD
How sad would be their durance if forlornF
Of offices dispensing heavenly graceE
