Down out of heavenA
Frost kissedB
And wind drivenA
Flake upon flakeC
Over forest and lakeC
Cometh the snowD
-
Folding the forestE
Folding the farmsF
In a mantle of whiteG
And the river s great armsF
Kissed by the chill nightG
From clamor to restH
Lie all white and shroudedI
Upon the world s breastH
-
Falling so slowlyJ
Down from aboveK
So white hushed and holyJ
Folding the cityJ
Like the great pityJ
Of God in His loveK
Sent down out of heavenA
On its sorrow and crimeL
Blotting them folding themM
Under its rimeM
-
Fluttering rustlingN
Soft as a breathO
The whisper of leavesP
The low pinions of deathO
Or the voice of the dawningN
When day has its birthQ
Is the music of silenceR
It makes to the earthQ
-
Thus down out of heavenA
Frost kissedB
And wind drivenA
Flake upon flakeC
Over forest and lakeC
Cometh the snowD
