In My Study, Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABCDB EEFG GF HHI AAIOut over my study | A |
All ashen and ruddy | A |
Sinks the December sun | B |
And high up over | C |
The chimney s soot cove | D |
The winter night wind has begun | B |
- | |
Here in the red embers | E |
I dream old Decembers | E |
Until the low moan of the blast | F |
Like a voice out of Ghost land | G |
- | |
- | |
Or memory s lost land | G |
Seems to conjure up wraiths of the past | F |
- | |
Then into the room | H |
Through the firelight and gloom | H |
Some one steals let the night wind grow bleak | I |
- | |
- | |
And ever so coldly | A |
Two white arms enfold me | A |
And a sweet face is close to my cheek | I |
