To The Troubler Of The World Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDDC

At last we know you War lord You that flungA
The gauntlet down fling down the mask you woreB
Publish your heart and let its pent hate pourB
You that had God for ever on your tongueA
We are old in war and if in guile we are youngA
Young also is the spirit that evermoreB
Burns in our bosom ev'n as heretoforeB
Nor are these thews unbraced these nerves unstrungA
We do not with God's name make wanton playC
We are not on such easy terms with HeavenD
But in Earth's hearing we can verily sayC
'Our hands are pure for peace for peace we have striven'D
And not by Earth shall he be soon forgivenD
Who lit the fire accurst that flames to dayC
