Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDE FGHI JJKL MMNN OOHH PQEE RRST NNDE UULL DDVV MMWW XYHI NNZZ

Alas our noble and generous Queen Victoria is deadA
And I hope her soul to Heaven has fledA
To sing and rejoice with saints aboveB
Where ah is joy peace and loveB
-
'Twas on January in the evening she died at o'clockC
Which to the civilised world has been a great shockC
She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren dearD
And for the motherly pious Queen they shed many a tearE
-
She has been a model and faithful QueenF
Very few like her have beenG
She has acted virtuously during her long reignH
And I'm afraid the world will never see her like againI
-
And during her reign she was beloved by the high and the lowJ
And through her decease the people's hearts are full of woeJ
Because she was kind to her subjects at home and abroadK
And now she's receiving her reward from the Eternal GodL
-
And during her reign in this world of trouble and strifeM
Several attempts were made to take her lifeM
Maclean he tried to shoot her but he did failN
But he was arrested and sent to an aaylum which made him bewailN
-
Victoria was a noble Queen the people must confessO
She was most charitable to them while in distressO
And in her disposition she wasn't proud nor vainH
And tears for her loss will fall as plentiful as rainH
-
The people around Balmoral will shed many tearsP
Owing to her visits amongst them for many yearsQ
She was very kind to the old infirm women thereE
By giving them provisions and occasionally a prayerE
-
And while at Balmoral she found work for men unemployedR
Which made the hearts of the poor men feel overjoyedR
And for Her Majesty they would have laid down their livesS
Because sometimes she saved them from starving and their wivesT
-
Many happy days she spent at BalmoralN
Viewing the blooming heather and the bonnie Highland floralN
Along with Prince Albert her husband dearD
But alas when he died she shed many a tearE
-
She was very charitable as everybody knowsU
But the loss of her husband caused her many woesU
Because he cheered her at Balmoral as they the heather trodL
But I hope she has met him now at the Throne of GodL
-
They ascended the Hill of Morven when she was in her fortieth yearD
And Her Majesty was delighted as she viewed the Highland deerD
Also dark Lochnagar which is most beautiful to seeV
Not far from Balmoral and the dark River DeeV
-
I hope they are walking in Heaven together as they did in lifeM
In the beautiful celestial regions free from all strifeM
Where God's family together continually meetW
Where the streets are paved with gold and everything completeW
-
Alas for the loss of Queen Victoria the people will mournX
But she unto them can never returnY
Therefore to mourn for her is all in vainH
Knowing that she can never return againI
-
Therefore good people one and allN
Let us be prepared for death when God does on us callN
Like the good and noble Queen Victoria of renownZ
The greatest and most virtuous Queen that ever wore a crownZ
