The Castle Of Mains Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBBCCC DEFGFHGAG IGGJKGLGG

Ancient Castle of the MainsA
With your romantic scenery and surrounding plainsA
Which seem most beautiful to the eyeB
And the little rivulet running byB
Which the weary traveller can drink of when he feels dryB
And the heaven's breath smells sweetly thereC
And scented perfumes fill the airC
Emanating from the green trees and beautiful wild flowers growing thereC
-
There the people can enjoy themselvesD
And wile away the timeE
By admiring the romantic scenery In the beautiful sunshineF
And pull the little daisyG
As they carelessly reclineF
Upon the grassy green banksH
Which is most charming to seeG
Near by the Castle of the MainsA
Not far from DundeeG
-
Then there's the old burying groundI
Most solemn to seeG
And the silent dead reposing silentlyG
Amid the shady treesJ
In that beautiful fairy dellK
Most lovely to seeG
Which in the summer seasonL
Fills the people's hearts with gleeG
To hear the birds singing and the humming of the beeG
