The Burns Statue Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEF GGGG

This Statue I must confess is magnificent to seeA
And I hope will long be appreciated by the people of DundeeA
It has been beautifully made by Sir John SteellB
And I hope the pangs of hunger he will never feelB
-
This statue is most elegant in its designC
And I hope will defy all weathers for a very long timeD
And I hope strangers from afar with admiration will stareE
On this beautiful statue of thee Immortal Bard of AyrF
-
Fellow citizens this Statue seems most beautiful to the eyeG
Which would cause Kings and Queens for such a one to sighG
And make them feel envious while passing byG
In fear of not getting such a beautiful Statue after they dieG
