Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCCDDEBBBBBBFGGE EGDDHHIIBeautiful Loch Ness | A |
The truth to express | A |
Your landscapes are lovely and gay | B |
Along each side of your waters to Fort Augustus all the way | B |
Your scenery is romantic | C |
With rocks and hills gigantic | C |
Enough to make one frantic | C |
As they view thy beautiful heathery hills | D |
And their clear crystal rills | D |
And the beautiful woodlands so green | E |
On a fine summer day | B |
From Inverneaa all the way | B |
Where the deer and the doe together doth play | B |
And the beautiful Falls of Foyers with its cystal spray | B |
As clear as the day | B |
Enchanting and gay | B |
To the traveller as he gazes thereon | F |
That he feels amazed with delight | G |
To see the water falling from such a height | G |
That his heed feels giddy with the scene | E |
As he views the Falls of Foyers and the woodlands so green | E |
That he exclaims in an ecstasy of delight | G |
Oh beautiful Loch Ness | D |
I must sincerely confess | D |
That you are the most beautiful to behold | H |
With your lovely landscapes and water so cold | H |
And as he turns from the scene he says with a sigh | I |
Oh beautiful Loch Ness I must bid you good bye | I |
