Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEE FFGG HHII JJJJ KKLM

Dear Johnny I return my thanks to youA
But more than thanks is your dueA
For publishing the scurrilous poetry about meB
Leaving the Ancient City of DundeeB
-
The rhymster says we'll weary for your schauchlin' formC
But if I'm not mistaken I've seen bonnier than his in a field of cornD
And as I venture to say and really supposeE
His form seen in a cornfield would frighten the crowsE
-
But dear Johnny as you said he's just a lampoonF
And as ugly and as ignorant as a wild baboonF
And as far as I can judge or thinkG
He is a vendor of strong drinkG
-
He says my nose would make a peasemeal warrior weepH
But I've seen a much bonnier sweepH
And a more manly and wiser manI
Than he is by far deny it who canI
-
And in conclusion I'd have him to bewareJ
And never again to interfere with a poet's hairJ
Because Christ the Saviour wore long hairJ
And many more good men I do declareJ
-
Therefore I laugh at such bosh that appears in printK
So I hope from me you will take the hintK
And never publish such bosh of poetry againL
Or else you'll get the famous Weekly News a bad nameM
