God prosper long our noble QueenA
And long may she reignB
Maclean he tried to shoot herC
But it was all in vainB
-
For God He turned the ball asideD
Maclean aimed at her headE
And he felt very angryF
Because he didn't shoot her deadE
-
There's a divinity that hedges a kingG
And so it does seemH
And my opinion is it has hedgedI
Our most gracious QueenA
-
Maclean must be a madmanJ
Which is obvious to be seenA
Or else he wouldn't have tried to shootK
Our most beloved QueenA
-
Victoria is a good QueenA
Which all her subjects knowL
And for that God has protected herC
From all her deadly foesM
-
She is noble and generousN
Her subjects must confessO
There hasn't been her equalP
Since the days of good Queen BessO
-
Long may she be spared to roamQ
Among the bonnie Highland floralP
And spend many a happy dayR
In the palace of BalmoralP
-
Because she is very kindS
To the old women thereT
And allows them bread tea and sugarC
And each one get a shareT
-
And when they know of her comingG
Their hearts feel overjoy'dU
Because in general she finds workV
For men that's unemploy'dU
-
And she also gives the gipsies moneyF
While at Balmoral I've been toldW
And mind ye seldom silverC
But very often goldW
-
I hope God will protect herC
By night and by dayR
At home and abroadX
When she's far awayR
-
May He be as a hedge around herC
As he's been all alongY
And let her live and die in peaceZ
Is the end of my songY
