A Tribute To Dr. Murison Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCBB DDAA EEDD FFBB AAGGBB

Success to the good and skilful Dr MurisonA
For golden opinions he has wonA
From his patients one and allB
And from myself McGonagallB
-
He is very skilful and void of prideC
He was so to me when at my bedsideC
When I turned badly on the th of JulyB
And was ill with inflammation and like to dieB
-
He told me at once what was ailing meD
He said I had been writing too much poetryD
And from writing poetry I would have to refrainA
Because I was suffering from inflammation on the brainA
-
And he has been very good to me in my distressE
Good people of Dundee I honestly confessE
And to all his patients as well as meD
Within the Royal city of DundeeD
-
He is worthy of the public's supportF
And to his shop they should resortF
To get his advice one and allB
Believe me on him ye ought to callB
-
He is very affable in temper and a skilful manA
And to cure all his patients he tries all he canA
And I wish him success for many a long dayG
For he has saved me from dying I venture to sayG
The kind treatment I received surpasses allB
Is the honest confession of McGonagallB
