The sunburnt stockman stoodB
And in a dismal moodC
Apostrophized his cuddyD
The nag's no goodB
He couldn't earn his foodC
A regular brumbyE

He jumped across the horseF
And cantered off of courseF
The roads were bad and muddyD
Said he Well spare me daysG
The Government's waysG
Are screamin' funnyD

He rode up hill down daleH
The wind it blew a galeH
The creek was high and floodyD
Said he The horse must swimE
The same for me and himE
Is something sickenin'D

He plunged into the creekI
The horse was weakI
The stockman's face a studyD
And though the horse was drownedD
The rider reached the groundD
