Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IJCK LMEN

Anyone with quiet pace whoA
walks a gray road in the WestB
may hear a badger underground whereC
in deep flint another time isD
-
-
Caught by flint and held foreverE
the quiet pace of God stopped stillF
Anyone who listens walks onG
time that dogs him single fileH
-
-
To mountains that are far from peopleI
the face of the land gone gray like flintJ
Badgers dig their little lives thereC
quiet paced the land lies gauntK
-
-
The railroad dies by a yellow depotL
town falls away toward a muddy creekM
Badger gray the sod goes underE
a river of wind a hawk on a stickN
