An Oregon Message Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDEFG HIJKLM NOLPQR S

When we first moved here pulledA
the trees in around us curledB
our backs to the wind no oneC
had ever hit the moon no oneC
Now our trees are safer than the starsD
and only other people's neglectE
is our precious and abiding shellF
pierced by meteors radar and the telephoneG
-
-
From our snug place we shoutH
religiously for attention in order to hideI
only silence or evasion will bringJ
dangerous notice the hovering hawkK
of the state or the sudden quiet stareL
and fatal estimate of an alerted neighborM
-
-
This message we smuggle out inN
its plain cover to be openedO
quietly Friends everywhereL
we are alive Those moon rocketsP
have missed millions of secretQ
places Best wishesR
