When bright Ophelia treads the greenB
In all the pride of dress and mienB
Averse to freedom mirth and playC
The lofty rival of the dayC
Methinks to my enchanted eyeD
The lilies droop the roses dieD
-
But when disdaining art the fairE
Assumes a soft engaging airE
Mild as the opening morn of MayC
And as the feather'd warblers gayC
The scene improves where'er she goesF
More sweetly smile the pink and roseF
-
O lovely maid propitious hearG
Nor think thy Damon insincereH
Pity my wild delusive flameI
For though the flowers are still the sameI
To me they languish or improveJ
And plainly tell me that I loveK
