Ode To A Young Lady Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBC DEDE FGFH IJIJ KLKL MNMN

Somewhat Too Solicitious about Her Manner of ExpressionA
-
Survey my fair that lucid streamB
Adown the smiling valley strayC
Would Art attempt or Fancy dreamB
To regulate its winding wayC
-
So pleas'd I view thy shining hairD
In loose dishevell'd ringlets flowE
Not all thy art not all thy careD
Can there one single grace bestowE
-
Survey again that verdant hillF
With native plants enamell'd o'erG
Say can the painter's utmost skillF
Instruct one flower to please us moreH
-
As vain it were with artful dyeI
To change the bloom thy cheeks discloseJ
And oh may Laura ere she tryI
With fresh vermilion paint the roseJ
-
Hark how the wood lark's tuneful throatK
Can every study'd grace excelL
Let Art constrain the rambling noteK
And will she Laura please so wellL
-
Oh ever keep thy native easeM
By no pedantic law confin'dN
For Laura's voice is form'd to pleaseM
So Laura's words be not unkindN
