Flirt And Phil Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDB EEFGGF HHBIIB

A wit by learning well refinedA
A beau but of the rural kindA
To Sylvia made pretencesB
They both profess'd an equal loveC
Yet hoped by different means to moveD
Her judgement of her sensesB
-
Young sprightly Flirt of blooming mienE
Watch'd the best minutes to be seenE
Went when his glass advised himF
While meagre Phil of brooks inquiredG
A wight for wit and and parts admiredG
And witty ladies prized himF
-
Sylvia had wit had spirits tooH
To hear the one the other viewH
Suspended held the scalesB
Her wit her youth too claim'd its shareI
Let none the preference declareI
But turn up heads or tailsB
