There were three niggers of ChickerabooA
PACIFICO BANG BANG POPCHOP whoB
Exclaimed one terribly sultry dayC
Oh let's be kings in a humble wayC
-
The first was a highly accomplished bonesD
The next elicited banjo tonesD
The third was a quiet retiring chapE
Who danced an excellent break down flapE
-
We niggers said they have formed a planF
By which whenever we like we canF
Extemporise kingdoms near the beachG
And then we'll collar a kingdom eachG
-
Three casks from somebody else's storesH
Shall represent our island shoresH
Their sides the ocean wide shall laveI
Their heads just topping the briny waveI
-
Great Britain's navy scours the seaJ
And everywhere her ships they beJ
She'll recognise our rank perhapsK
When she discovers we're Royal ChapsK
-
If to her skirts you want to clingL
It's quite sufficient that you're a kingL
She does not push inquiry farM
To learn what sort of king you areM
-
A ship of several thousand tonsN
And mounting seventy something gunsN
Ploughed every year the ocean blueB
Discovering kings and countries newB
-
The brave REAR ADMIRAL BAILEY PIPO
Commanding that magnificent shipO
Perceived one day his glasses throughB
The kings that came from ChickerabooJ
-
Dear eyes said ADMIRAL PIP I seeJ
Three flourishing islands on our leeJ
And bless me most remarkable thingL
On every island stands a kingL
-
Come lower the Admiral's gig he criedP
And over the dancing waves I'll glideP
That low obeisance I may doB
To those three kings of ChickerabooJ
-
The Admiral pulled to the islands threeJ
The kings saluted him graciousLEEJ
The Admiral pleased at his welcome warmQ
Unrolled a printed Alliance formQ
-
Your Majesty sign me this I prayC
I come in a friendly kind of wayC
I come if you please with the best intentsR
And QUEEN VICTORIA'S complimentsR
-
The kings were pleased as they well could beJ
The most retiring of the threeJ
In a cellar flap to his joy gave ventS
With a banjo bones accompanimentT
-
The great REAR ADMIRAL BAILEY PIPO
Embarked on board his jolly big shipO
Blue Peter flew from his lofty foreU
And off he sailed to his native shoreU
-
ADMIRAL PIP directly wentS
To the Lord at the head of the GovernmentT
Who made him by a stroke of a quillJ
BARON DE PIPPE OF PIPPETONNEVILLEJ
-
The College of Heralds permission yieldV
That he should quarter upon his shieldV
Three islands VERT on a field of blueJ
With the pregnant motto ChickerabooJ
-
Ambassadors yes and attaches tooJ
Are going to sail for ChickerabooJ
And see on the good ship's crowded deckW
A bishop who's going out there on specW
-
And let us all hope that blissful thingsX
May come of alliance with darky kingsX
And may we never whatever we doJ
Declare a war with ChickerabooJ
