The Suicide's Grave Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABAAAB CBCBDDDB EBEBFFFB

On a tree by a river a little tomtitA
Sang Willow titwillow titwillowB
And I said to him Dicky bird why do you sitA
Singing 'Willow titwillow titwillow'B
Is it weakness of intellect birdie I criedA
Or a rather tough worm in your little insideA
With a shake of his poor little head he repliedA
Oh willow titwillow titwillowB
-
He slapped at his chest as he sat on that boughC
Singing Willow titwillow titwillowB
And a cold perspiration bespangled his browC
Oh willow titwillow titwillowB
He sobbed and he sighed and a gurgle he gaveD
Then he threw himself into the billowy waveD
And an echo arose from the suicide's graveD
Oh willow titwillow titwillowB
-
Now I feel just as sure as I'm sure that my nameE
Isn't Willow titwillow titwillowB
That 'twas blighted affection that made him exclaimE
Oh willow titwillow titwillowB
And if you remain callous and obdurate IF
Shall perish as he did and you will know whyF
Though I probably shall not exclaim as I dieF
Oh willow titwillow titwillowB
