Rhyme Scheme: ABCCCCCDECCFCF CCGGCCCHEIIFCF JCKKCCCLEMMFMF

I shipped d'ye see in a Revenue sloopA
And off Cape FinisteereB
A merchantman we seeC
A Frenchman going freeC
So we made for the bold MounseerC
D'ye seeC
We made for the bold MounseerC
But she proved to be a Frigate and she up with her portsD
And fires with a thirty twoE
It come uncommon nearC
But we answered with a cheerC
Which paralysed the Parley vooF
D'ye seeC
Which paralysed the Parley vooF
-
Then our Captain he up and he says says heC
That chap we need not fearC
We can take her if we likeG
She is sartin for to strikeG
For she's only a darned MounseerC
D'ye seeC
She's only a darned MounseerC
But to fight a French fal lal it's like hittin' of a galH
It's a lubberly thing for to doE
For we with all our faultsI
Why we're sturdy British saltsI
While she's but a Parley vooF
D'ye seeC
A miserable Parley vooF
-
So we up with our helm and we scuds before the breezeJ
As we gives a compassionating cheerC
Froggee answers with a shoutK
As he sees us go aboutK
Which was grateful of the poor MounseerC
D'ye seeC
Which was grateful of the poor MounseerC
And I'll wager in their joy they kissed each other's cheekL
Which is what them furriners doE
And they blessed their lucky starsM
We were hardy British tarsM
Who had pity on a poor Parley vooF
D'ye seeM
Who had pity on a poor Parley vooF
