The Contemplative Sentry Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFGFEHI JDJDKBLBGFGFEHI

When all night long a chap remainsA
On sentry go to chase monotonyB
He exercises of his brainsA
That is assuming that he's got anyB
Though never nurtured in the lapC
Of luxury yet I admonish youD
I am an intellectual chapC
And think of things that would astonish youD
I often think it's comicalE
How Nature always does contriveF
That every boy and every galG
That's born into the world aliveF
Is either a little LiberalE
Or else a little ConservativeH
Fal lal laI
-
When in that house M P 's divideJ
If they've a brain and cerebellum tooD
They're got to leave that brain outsideJ
And vote just as their leaders tell 'em toD
But then the prospect of a lotK
Of statesmen all in close proximityB
A thinking for themselves is whatL
No man can face with equanimityB
Then let's rejoice with loud Fal lalG
That Nature wisely does contriveF
That every boy and every galG
That's born into the world aliveF
Is either a little LiberalE
Or else a little ConservativeH
Fal lal laI
