Sleep On! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEF EGEGEHEHEFEF

Fear no unlicensed entryA
Heed no bombastic talkB
While guards the British SentryA
Pall Mall and Birdcage WalkB
Let European thundersC
Occasion no alarmsD
Though diplomatic blundersC
May cause a cry To armsD
Sleep on ye pale civiliansE
All thunder clouds defyF
On Europe's countless millionsE
The Sentry keeps his eyeF
-
Should foreign born rapscallionsE
In London dare to showG
Their overgrown battalionsE
Be sure I'll let you knowG
Should Russians or NorwegiansE
Pollute our favoured climeH
With rough barbaric legionsE
I'll mention it in timeH
So sleep in peace civiliansE
The Continent defyF
While on its countless millionsE
The Sentry keeps his eyeF
