The Sun whose raysA
Are all ablazeA
With ever living gloryB
Will not denyC
His majestyB
He scorns to tell a storyB
He won't exclaimD
I blush for shameD
So kindly be indulgentE
But fierce and boldF
In fiery goldF
He glories all effulgentF
-
I mean to rule the earthG
As he the skyC
We really know our worthG
The Sun and IC
-
Observe his flameD
That placid dameD
The Moon's Celestial HighnessH
There's not a traceI
Upon her faceI
Of diffidence or shynessH
She borrows lightF
That through the nightF
Mankind may all acclaim herJ
And truth to tellK
She lights up wellK
So I for one don't blame herJ
-
Ah pray make no mistakeL
We are not shyC
We're very wide awakeL
The Moon and IC
