Song In March Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEE FFGGHHIAJJ

NOW are the winds about us in their gleeA
Tossing the slender treeA
Whirling the sands about his furious carB
March cometh from afarB
Breaks the sealed magic of old Winter s dreamsC
And rends his glassy streamsC
Chafing with potent airs he fiercely takesD
Their fetters from the lakesD
And with a power by queenly Spring suppliedE
Wakens the slumbering tideE
-
With a wild love he seeks young Summer s charmsF
And clasps her to his armsF
Lifting his shield between he drives awayG
Old Winter from his preyG
The ancient tyrant whom he boldly bravesH
Goes howling to his cavesH
And to his northern realm compelled to flyI
Yields up the victoryA
Melted are all his bands o erthrown his towersJ
And March comes bringing flowersJ
