The Singer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFGFHH

Nay sing no more thy wild delusive strainA
I heard them say while I my song pursuedB
'Tis but the rage of thy delirious brainA
I heard them say yet still my song renewedB
Nay sing no more with reckless idle breathC
Of man immortal and of life to comeD
For one brief moment scan the face of deathC
Then be thy foolish song for ever dumbD
Behold the dusty ash that once was fireE
And mark the summer leaf in autumn fallF
Watch thou the wavering breath of man expireG
And know that Death hath lordship over allF
I heard them say with many a scornful wordH
Yet still sang on as one who nothing heardH
