Australian Federation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDCEC

FROM all division let our land be freeA
For God has made her one complete she liesB
Within the unbroken circle of the skiesB
And round her indivisible the seaA
Breaks on her single shore while only weA
Her foster children bound with sacred tiesB
Of one dear blood one storied enterpriseB
Are negligent of her integrityA
Her seamless garment at great Mammon s nodC
With hands unfilial we have basely rentD
With petty variance our souls are spentD
And ancient kinship underfoot is trodC
O let us rise united penitentE
And be one people mighty serving GodC
