Epitaph Of Constantine Kanaris Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE DGCG EHCI

I am Constantine KanarisA
I who lie beneath this stoneB
Twice into the air in thunderC
Have the Turkish galleys blownB
-
In my bed I died a ChristianD
Hoping straight with Christ to beE
Yet one earthly wish is buriedF
Deep within the grave with meE
-
That upon the open oceanD
When the third Armada cameG
They and I had died togetherC
Whirled aloft on wings of flameG
-
Yet 'tis something that they've laid meE
In a land without a stainH
Keep it thus my God and SaviourC
Till I rise from earth againI
