Upon The Mountain's Distant Head Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF

Upon the mountain's distant headA
With trackless snows for ever whiteB
Where all is still and cold and deadA
Late shines the day's departing lightB
-
But far below those icy rocksC
The vales in summer bloom arrayedD
Woods full of birds and fields of flocksC
Are dim with mist and dark with shadeD
-
'Tis thus from warm and kindly heartsE
And eyes where generous meanings burnF
Earliest the light of life departsE
But lingers with the cold and sternF
