-
Airs that wander and murmur roundC
Bearing delight where'er ye blowD
Make in the elms a lulling soundC
While my lady sleeps in the shade belowD
-
Lighten and lengthen her noonday restE
Till the heat of the noonday sun is o'erA
Sweet be her slumbers though in my breastE
The pain she has waked may slumber no moreA
Breathing soft from the blue profoundC
Bearing delight where'er ye blowD
Make in the elms a lulling soundC
While my lady sleeps in the shade belowD
-
Airs that over the bending boughsF
And under the shade of pendent leavesG
Murmur soft like my timid vowsF
Or the secret sighs my bosom heavesG
Gently sweeping the grassy groundC
Bearing delight where'er ye blowD
Make in the elms a lulling soundC
While my lady sleeps in the shade belowD
