The Love Of God. - From The ProvenÇal Of Bernari Rascas. (translations.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEEFFGGBBHHIIAB J

All things that are on earth shall wholly pass awayA
Except the love of God which shall live and last for ayeB
The forms of men shall be as they had never beenC
The blasted groves shall lose their fresh and tender greenD
The birds of the thicket shall end their pleasant songE
And the nigthingale shall cease to chant the evening longE
The kine of the pasture shall feel the dart that killsF
And all the fair white flocks shall perish from the hillsF
The goat and antlered stag the wolf and the foxG
The wild boar of the wood and the chamois of the rocksG
And the strong and fearless bear in the trodden dust shall lieB
And the dolphin of the sea and the mighty whale shall dieB
And realms shall be dissolved and empires be no moreH
And they shall bow to death who ruled from shore to shoreH
And the great globe itself so the holy writings tellI
With the rolling firmament where the starry armies dwellI
Shall melt with fervent heat they shall all pass awayA
Except the love of God which shall live and last for ayeB
