Sonnet To '' Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFGFHI| Ay thou art for the grave thy glances shine | A |
| Too brightly to shine long another Spring | B |
| Shall deck her for men's eyes but not for thine | A |
| Sealed in a sleep which knows no wakening | B |
| The fields for thee have no medicinal leaf | C |
| And the vexed ore no mineral of power | D |
| And they who love thee wait in anxious grief | C |
| Till the slow plague shall bring the fatal hour | D |
| Glide softly to thy rest then Death should come | E |
| Gently to one of gentle mould like thee | F |
| As light winds wandering through groves of bloom | G |
| Detach the delicate blossom from the tree | F |
| Close thy sweet eyes calmly and without pain | H |
| And we will trust in God to see thee yet again | I |
