Song Of The Greek Amazon. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EBEBFGFG BHBHIJKJ LMLMNONO

I buckle to my slender sideA
The pistol and the scimitarB
And in my maiden flower and prideA
Am come to share the tasks of warB
And yonder stands my fiery steedC
That paws the ground and neighs to goD
My charger of the Arab breedC
I took him from the routed foeD
-
My mirror is the mountain springE
At which I dress my ruffled hairB
My dimmed and dusty arms I bringE
And wash away the blood stain thereB
Why should I guard from wind and sunF
This cheek whose virgin rose is fledG
It was for one oh only oneF
I kept its bloom and he is deadG
-
But they who slew him unawareB
Of coward murderers lurking nighH
And left him to the fowls of airB
Are yet alive and they must dieH
They slew him and my virgin yearsI
Are vowed to Greece and vengeance nowJ
And many an Othman dame in tearsK
Shall rue the Grecian maiden's vowJ
-
I touched the lute in better daysL
I led in dance the joyous bandM
Ah they may move to mirthful laysL
Whose hands can touch a lover's handM
The march of hosts that haste to meetN
Seems gayer than the dance to meO
The lute's sweet tones are not so sweetN
As the fierce shout of victoryO
