To The Nightingale, Which The Author Heard Sing On New Year's Day. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFG HIHI GJGJ KLKL

Whence is it that amazed I hearA
From yonder wither'd sprayB
This foremost morn of all the yearC
The melody of MayB
-
-
And why since thousands would be proudD
Of such a favour shownE
Am I selected from the crowdD
To witness it aloneE
-
-
Sing'st thou sweet Philomel to meF
For that I also longG
Have practised in the groves like theeF
Though not like thee in songG
-
-
Or sing'st thou rather under forceH
Of some divine commandI
Commission'd to presage a courseH
Of happier days at handI
-
-
Thrice welcome then for many a longG
And joyless year have IJ
As thou to day put forth my songG
Beneath a wintry skyJ
-
-
But thee no wintry skies can harmK
Who only need'st to singL
To make e'en January charmK
And every season springL
