The Falling Of The Leaves Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB ACAC

Autumn is over the long leaves that love usA
And over the mice in the barley sheavesB
Yellow the leaves of the rowan above usA
And yellow the wet wild strawberry leavesB
-
The hour of the waning of love has beset usA
And weary and worn are our sad souls nowC
Let us patt ere the season of passion forget usA
With a kiss and a tear on thy drooping browC
