The Cat And The Moon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDCEFGHIJIJKLKHMNO PQRQHSCS

The cat went here and thereA
And the moon spun round like a topB
And the nearest kin of the moonC
The creeping cat looked upD
Black Minnaloushe stared at the moonC
For wander and wail as he wouldE
The pure cold light in the skyF
Troubled his animal bloodG
Minnaloushe runs in the grassH
Lifting his delicate feetI
Do you dance Minnaloushe do you danceJ
When two close kindred meetI
What better than call a danceJ
Maybe the moon may learnK
Tired of that courtly fashionL
A new dance turnK
Minnaloushe creeps through the grassH
From moonlit place to placeM
The sacred moon overheadN
Has taken a new phaseO
Does Minnaloushe know that his pupilsP
Will pass from change to changeQ
And that from round to crescentR
From crescent to round they rangeQ
Minnaloushe creeps through the grassH
Alone important and wiseS
And lifts to the changing moonC
His changing eyesS
