The Apparitions Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDEF GHIJKLEF MNOOIIEF

Because there is safety in derisionA
I talked about an apparitionA
I took no trouble to convinceB
Or seem plausible to a man of senseC
Distrustful of thar popular eyeD
Whether it be bold or slyD
Fifteen apparitions have I seenE
The worst a coat upon a coat hangerF
-
I have found nothing half so goodG
As my long planned half solitudeH
Where I can sit up half the nightI
With some friend that has the witJ
Not to allow his looks to tellK
When I am unintelligibleL
Fifteen apparitions have I seenE
The worst a coat upon a coat hangerF
-
When a man grows old his joyM
Grows more deep day after dayN
His empty heart is full at lengthO
But he has need of all that strengthO
Because of the increasing NightI
That opens her mystery and frightI
Fifteen apparitions have I seenE
The worst a coat upon a coat hangerF
